Review - How to do Street Magic DVD

I received the " How To Do Street Magic DVD " in the mail and didn't even get to check it out before my son Jakob had the dvd up on the big screen. I was so impressed with the way the dvd teaches you how to do magic. My son was doing magic tricks on us for weeks.

This DVD is great for kids and adults of all ages. It will definitely keep your 12 year old son busy for hours. Just make sure you have several decks of cards for them to practice their magic tricks with.

You can purchase this DVD here.

It retails for $29.95

ABC Gauze Review

I just wanted to share with you all a product I recently got to try called ABC Gauze.
My little girl Summer got a hold of a glass and dropped in on the floor cutting her big toe. First thing I did was wash the glass off and then applied pressure. I started to put a bandaid on her big toe when I remembered the ABC Gauze sample I was given. I applied it to her cut and was impressed on how it adhered to her wound. Gave her a kiss and she was on her way.

This product would be great for home, the car and in your first aid kit.

A little bit about ABC Gauze:

When ABC Gauze makes contact with blood, it turns into a safe, clear gel that stops bleeding, promotes clotting, and forms a protective barrier over the wound. And removal is as easy as A-B-C. ABC Gauze washes off with water and
doesn't hurt like sticky adhesives when you pull them off.

Product Benefits:
Is easy to use
Begins clotting FAST!
Is safe and effective
Is easily and painlessly removed with sterile water
Stops bleeding in hundreds of situations where bleeding can occur
Is sterile
Is all natural
Does NOT cause delayed healing
Dissolves over time
Has NO known side effects
Is lightweight and easy to handleIs easy to use

SPORTS ACTION FIGURES FOR KIDS Review and Giveaway

Have I told you how much I love football!!! My oldest son Christian has been playing all through High School and is now in his senior year on the Varsity Football team at our local high school.

On that note I want to share with you all this great company I found Kaskey Kids

They have sports action figures for football, baseball, hockey and soccer. We ordered the football action figures. They arrived in a nice carrying case. My son Jakob started putting the field together and had a blast.

I highly recommend this product as the actions figures are well made and the field is huge. These would also make great gifts for sport coaches. They could make up plays using these action figures.
You could also use the action figures for party decorations ( if you're having a sports theme party) or as cake toppers.

Also, for Simply ME readers they are offering a 10% discount when you enter "GoGuys" at checkout. Great gifts for Christmas ...hint hint..

Book Review - Don't Call Me a Crook!: A Scotsman's Tale of World Travel, Whisky and Crime by Bob Moore

Have you ever read a book where the cover didn't intrigue you? Only to find out what a great story was in between the cover?
I had the opportunity to review Don't Call Me a Crook!: A Scotsman's Tale of World Travel, Whisky and Crime by Bob Moore.

In this tale Bob Moore tells us stories of his thievery, deceit, and trickery he used to sustain his lust for life and alcohol. But then he goes on to tell the reader that he is not a thief. His story takes place in 1935 as a young man who marries and decides that's not the life for him and decides to travel the world. On his travels he tells us stories of his mishaps in China, New York and on the multiple ships he sailed on as the chief engineer.

At the beginning of the book I laughed alot at all the different predicaments Bob got himself into. Women feel in love with is witty charm, he could smooth talk anyone and enjoyed life to the fullest. I enjoyed reading this book of his crazy tales but the end of the book was harder to stomach as it involved a lack of regard for human life and racism. Although, I try to remember the world was a different place back then.

I give this book 3 1/2 stars out of 5. If you get a chance give this book a try.
It is available at Amazon for only $6.49

Review - The Online Mom - Tech Tools For Parents

I was recently introduced to a very informative site called The Online Mom.
Being the mom of three teenage sons that are into online gaming, video games, texting and more; I quickly pulled up my chair and started reading. I am concerned about the sites they visit and the people they talk to on the Internet. I also wondered how long is too long for a child to be playing on the Internet? Another worry of mine is online predators (thanks to Dateline). One article that was of interest to me was this article on Safety Vs. Privacy

“Online Mom is an organization and web site devoted to providing the knowledge, the advice, and the tools that will help all parents protect their kids and encourage responsible behavior as they make the most of the new digital world. Whether it's understanding social networking, photo sharing, texting, YouTube or just finding the right video games, The Online Mom has the explanations, the advice and the recommendations you have been looking for.”

My favorite section of the site is the Ask the Online Mom Section. If you have a question about how video game usage or too much texting is affecting your child you can send a message to the Online Mom. All questions will be treated as confidential. Contact The Online Mom today monica_vila@theonlinemom.com

You can also follow Monica Vila founder of the Online Mom on Twitter. She holds tweetchats which are held every Wednesday night at #theonlinemom, in which participants discuss everything from privacy on social networks to back to school gadgets.

For even more fun follow the Online Mom on her

A link to the Online Mom's Facebook page: Facebook Page, were they are having a Facebook fan giveaway, which is already underway and running through Monday, September 21st. They are going to give away a Nintendo Wii game system and some other prizes to fans who complete various fan challenges over the contest period. Fan challenges will be announced via status updates, so fans will have to keep an eye on their home page newsfeed or check back on the page regularly for info.

Hope you enjoy my review. I just joined the Online Moms facebook page. Hope to see you there and maybe you will be one of their lucky winners!!!

Take care,
Genevieve
